Operation Tiny Blessing
In my brother’s baby book is a telegram our father got on the ship where he was deployed to tell him he had a son. That piece of paper never meant that much to me until I became an adult and then a parent.
Missing the birth of a child must be terribly hard and almost impossible to imagine. As I look at the telegram now I try to imagine all the emotions you would feel – not knowing what your baby looks like, being there with your wife to celebrate, those first few weeks when everything is so new, to coming home to a child that you have never met and the fear that they won’t know you. Hard stuff.
I know this will never replace those moments, but I would like to offer the following to families in my area, if your husband is deployed at the time of delivery:
• Complimentary newborn session scheduled during the first two weeks after the baby is born
• I will send an album with a copy of each image in your gallery to your husband wherever he is stationed as
• 25 birth announcements
• Discounted print pricing. (Please contact me for more specifics on pricing).
As the child of a career Naval officer, I remember the military from the child’s perspective. As much as I dreaded moving every three years I saw how much easier it was for me to adapt to new circumstances and make new friends in new places. I respect and admire our soldiers for their willingness to sacrifice for our country.
While some may give the ultimate sacrifice others give up precious time and moments that they cannot duplicate. I am so proud of each man and woman that lives and breathes for service. We would not be the country that we are without them. I am hoping that by using my passion for newborn photography that I can bring a little bit of home closer to your loved one.
