Sweet baby girl | San Jose Newborn Photographer

So this sweet little one is my new niece. I shared my sister’s maternity pictures a few days ago (obviously my posting time is a bit off!) Miss R met her parents on August 25 and I was fortunate enough to be able to have a weekend to go and visit her while she was still brand new. She might be one of the cutest babies ever, no bias or anything. So here are a few of my favorite images from our time together.

Miss R is quite the diva with a great selection of hats. Every little girl has to accessorize. She knows the key to being properly attired is the proper fashion accessories. PBJ_6960

I just have such a hard time even deciding which images to share!

And finally one of the new family. They have so much to look forward to. Welcome to the family!

Happy one month birthday too!

Alcatraz | Bay Area Photographer

Awhile back we took the kids to Alcatraz. I have to say they are not terribly interested in the historical aspects of it (yet) but we did enjoy the ride out there and the scenery. Someday I will go back without them, or when they are older and will appreciate it – and then I will spend time listening to the tour and reading all the things there are to read. I did manage to get some pictures while we were there though!

This was the view from the boat at the approach to Alcatraz. Love the signage all over the island.

It was so bleak and dark in there. As well I would have expected. I did keep looking for Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery though.

13

This was outside in the yard. Did not look like a fun place to hang out at all. Just thinking of all the people who I learned about in school who were here though is amazing.

15

There were birds everywhere!!

14

This is the spiral staircase leading to the second floor of cells. The cells were so tiny. Barely enough room to move around.

16

And finally on our way back to San Francisco from Alcatraz. It was a great day!

The G’s | Mountain View Children’s Photographer

Brother and sister. Together and happy. It is always a pleasure to be able to preserve those moments. These two are so sweet to each other and play together beautifully. Family is such a blessing and a gift. To teach our children while they are young to be friends is so important. I treasure images of my children like these.36

Miss J is so very sweet and proper. She loves all things ballet and gymnastics (and frogs too). She was also more than happy to have her picture taken. That makes things so much easier :)

37

Mr. C is such a little gentleman. With such a twinkle in his eye though you know he is all boy – but still so respectful and loving.

35

And who could resist a picture of little Miss J with her daddy. We all know how those little girls wrap their daddies right around their fingers. A precious moment to remember.

One on the way

It has been awhile since I have posted a maternity session. But I could not resist having the opportunity to take my sisters maternity portraits. She is expecting her first little girl and I had the opportunity to be all the way in Florida (from California) to attend her baby shower. While I was there we set out to get some of those pregnancy moments caught for all time. She is amazingly tiny and perfectly pregnant. These were taken at 34 weeks.

I am sure that I never looked that good pregnant. And certainly not that far along. I am so glad I was able to be there to be a part of this exciting time in their lives! Can’t wait to meet the little one!

There is nothing quite like a newborn. So tiny. So bendy. So sweet. So full of possibility and potential. It is such an amazing age that lasts an amazingly short period of time. Quickly replaced by an equally amazing infant, yet still so totally different from the brand new baby that you had just weeks ago. Here is a precious little guy that I had the privilege to meet. He was simply perfect.

17

One of my favorite things to see is a sleeping baby. The peace and innocence are so fascinating and captivating. So glad I was able to meet this little man so early.

18

Just a reminder to expectant moms out there. To capture that amazingly fleeting newborn age make sure to call and set up your appointment as soon as you get home from the hospital! These images are best when taken within the first week of your precious little ones time at home. I will be happy to block off a period of time around your due date to be confirmed after delivery.

Beautiful sisters

I finally did a much needed upgrade to my blogs database and upgraded my blogs confusing technology as well. In the upgrade I got these great larger sized images. What an awesome way to show off my favorite images from your sessions. I am not a great writer, but I love to share images with you here.

So for my first new updated super cool post, here are two gorgeous sisters.

22

Miss N is so comfortable in front of the camera. So natural. So pretty.

23

Then little Miss A is adorable. She is so spirited and fun to watch.

21

So for my final word on this new updated blog. Thank you so much to all my faithful pb&j clients!

Flower Power

I know that is a pretty lame title. But I have never been the best with creative naming. While exploring San Jose while my kids were in school I stumbled across the Heritage Rose Garden. Which as they describe it

…delighting you with a world class collection of almost 4,000 plants of more than 3,000 varieties of heritage, modern and miniature roses, initially planted by more than 750 volunteers in March, 1995.

It is certainly a beautiful sight. I am not a big rose buff but there were only a couple of roses that I had ever heard of. The first time I went I did not take my camera. So then I decided to go back and this time I went prepared. Here are a few of my favorite images from the visit.

A boy and his chair

Well a boy, his chair, and his two sisters might be a better description. This little guy just celebrated his first birthday! The year has gone by so fast and I can hardly believe it has been a year since our newborn session together. I just think if it has been this fast for me how much faster has it been for his mommy.

Not to be outdone his sisters who are equally as adorable as he is could not help but jump on the chair too. Really how could you resist it.

I have known the Lee family for years and have such a great time every time I am blessed with the opportunity to return and document their children’s lives. Just a couple more pics for a bit of fun.

And finally because they are just too cute. The girls by themselves. Can’t wait to see what they look like next year!
