Baby Colin | mountain view newborn photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting a new family this week. They just welcomed their first little one to the world! And he is adorable. Doted on by Mommy and Daddy as well as his Grandparents! He started out our time together wide eyed, but finally he gave into exhaustion and went to sleep. He was so precious and cooperative. I had an excellent time and am looking forward to going through the rest of the images from our time together. But for now here are a few previews!

I also have to add that this truly is a small world. In the last few weeks I have met more people from “home” and it has been so nice to be able to talk to people who appreciate the simple things in life, like Chick-fil-A. I am sure there will one day be one out here in the Bay Area, but until then . . .

Great Expectation | Menlo Park Maternity Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting this couple this week. They are expecting their little girl to arrive any time! I so very much enjoyed meeting them both and getting to spend some time with them. Seeing them together full of smiles and love – I know they are going to be amazing parents. I also have to add that I wish I looked as good as she did when I was 39 weeks along!

I know you are ready to meet your precious little girl!

my little valentines | bay area photographer

My plan was to get this posted prior to Valentines Day, but my best laid plans often get away from me. In keeping with my annual trend of doing custom valentines for my children we had to do them again this year. The boys are a bit less than eager, since they are still not totally big on the girls . . . yet. But I suppose by the time Valentines excite them again, they will be picking them for special girls, not the whole class. So we got a bit silly and creative this year for their cards. Had to be cool enough to give to everyone without making it sound like they really liked the girls. So this is what we came up with. Picture 6

Picture 7Picture 8We got them done and handed out to the classes. It is always fun to do the exchange and look over the massive valentine loot that they acquired. It could rival a Halloween goody bag. So for all of you a happy belated Valentines Day!

Project365 | Bay Area Photographer

I have been a major blog slacker lately. It is always on my list of things to do . . .

It is so hard to believe it is already February. January was a very busy month with so many different things. I have been in charge of the yearbook at my children’s school this year and had my first deadline pass. That led to a crazy couple weeks trying to wrap up those 30 pages. A little breathing room now until the final deadline which I am sure will come all to rapidly.

One of my other more fun projects was this year I am trying to follow through with project365. If you aren’t familiar with that it is basically taking a picture every day, there are different variations on actually doing it. But my rules for myself are this: take a picture on the iphone every day. All processing, etc is done on the phone. Then I upload it to a special site I have just for my project365 images. So far I am thoroughly impressed with myself for actually doing every day! I don’t follow any specific theme, but try to have the picture have something to do with the day. Here is the link to my project365 site – Fringamajig (I have a few random domain names that I have bought and thought this one would be good for something like this)

I will leave you with one of my favorite pictures from January and will be back soon with more . . .l_1600_1200_1565AFE0-2374-4654-9B4C-431812AB0726-800x600

My Crew | Mountain View Childrens Photographer

So we recently set out for our own Christmas card pictures. It is always an adventure and a challenge to see how my own children cooperate. Generally speaking someone is less than interested in participating. But this time they did cooperate better. Then even all actually smiled for me. Maybe not at the same time, but they did great. I love looking back over the pictures each year and remembering what they were doing at the time. Last year it was one not wanting to sit by the other. Then it was just one who did not want to be there at all!! I also apparently really like brown. They have been wearing brown for the past 3 or 4 years. But they look good in it and I like it – so I guess it is all good.

I now get to try and plan out our cards and that is even more of a challenge then actually taking the pictures! So here are a couple fun pictures from our afternoon together.

A Christmas Hat | Campbell Baby Photographer

It is crazy how fast Christmas is approaching. I am amazed at how quickly the year goes by. As a child the year seemed soooo long. It took forever. Now as an adult each year flies past. The season is a prime time to remember to be thankful for all the many blessings in my life and also to take time to savor the moments now. To remember my children the age they are now. For to soon they will be even bigger. The perfect reason for new pictures :)

Here is a sweet little one working on her Christmas card pictures. Her hat was precious and she has some very captivating, wide brown eyes, – you just can’t help but look!

Little Man K | Menlo Park Child Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting this little guy and his family this weekend. He woke up just for our time together and was so much fun. I love the seeing the different personalities that they have at such young ages. This little fellow did not disappoint. He had me laughing quite a bit. He knows what he wants. What also warms my heart is seeing the devotion and interaction between the family. It is always a joy to see parents playing with their children and to be a guest to witness that. It always bears repeating, but years go by so fast! Thank you for allowing me to visit with your family and capture this time for you.

So without further ado . . . Here is little Mr. K

The rest are coming soon!

Sweet baby girl | San Jose Newborn Photographer

So this sweet little one is my new niece. I shared my sister’s maternity pictures a few days ago (obviously my posting time is a bit off!) Miss R met her parents on August 25 and I was fortunate enough to be able to have a weekend to go and visit her while she was still brand new. She might be one of the cutest babies ever, no bias or anything. So here are a few of my favorite images from our time together.

Miss R is quite the diva with a great selection of hats. Every little girl has to accessorize. She knows the key to being properly attired is the proper fashion accessories. PBJ_6960

I just have such a hard time even deciding which images to share!

And finally one of the new family. They have so much to look forward to. Welcome to the family!

Happy one month birthday too!

Alcatraz | Bay Area Photographer

Awhile back we took the kids to Alcatraz. I have to say they are not terribly interested in the historical aspects of it (yet) but we did enjoy the ride out there and the scenery. Someday I will go back without them, or when they are older and will appreciate it – and then I will spend time listening to the tour and reading all the things there are to read. I did manage to get some pictures while we were there though!

This was the view from the boat at the approach to Alcatraz. Love the signage all over the island.

11

It was so bleak and dark in there. As well I would have expected. I did keep looking for Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery though.

13

This was outside in the yard. Did not look like a fun place to hang out at all. Just thinking of all the people who I learned about in school who were here though is amazing.

15

There were birds everywhere!!

14

This is the spiral staircase leading to the second floor of cells. The cells were so tiny. Barely enough room to move around.

16

And finally on our way back to San Francisco from Alcatraz. It was a great day!

The G’s | Mountain View Children’s Photographer

Brother and sister. Together and happy. It is always a pleasure to be able to preserve those moments. These two are so sweet to each other and play together beautifully. Family is such a blessing and a gift. To teach our children while they are young to be friends is so important. I treasure images of my children like these.36

Miss J is so very sweet and proper. She loves all things ballet and gymnastics (and frogs too). She was also more than happy to have her picture taken. That makes things so much easier :)

37

Mr. C is such a little gentleman. With such a twinkle in his eye though you know he is all boy – but still so respectful and loving.

35

And who could resist a picture of little Miss J with her daddy. We all know how those little girls wrap their daddies right around their fingers. A precious moment to remember.
